There are much stuff in the markets which come with no expiry dates mentioned in them giving us a false impression that we can use them or at least store them for indefinite period of time. But it’s actually not true, even these items are with expiration dates and may be do not turn toxic or dangerous but they surely lose their strengths and efficiency beyond their dates.
Here’s is a list of 14 items with expiry date which you though will last till eternity but they do not. They should be replaced immediately and they might be unsuitable or even harmful for use.
1 Hydrogen peroxide — 2 months

Among items with expiry date, usually most of the houses especially kitchens have hydrogen peroxide which is useful in many different ways but they do expire after 2 months. In case you got a sealed bottle, it may last for a year but not more than that.
2 Spices — 2 years

Cooking spices are not supposed to be stored for eternity in the kitchen cabinets, they must be bought in small quantities so that they get used up completely and you can but a fresh lot. They lose their strength on 2 years with no gastronomical use at all and should not be used in your food at all.
3 Tea bags — 6 months

Among items with expiry date, your favourite exotic tea bags will not be so aromatic and healthy after 6 months. It will lose its flavours and all the goodness by that time. So, make sure you drink up the tea by 6 months and get another fresh lot. There is another reason why you should not keep them for longer duration as the tea leaves start fermenting due to exposure to moisture in air.
4 Sunglasses — 2 years

Yes, difficult to digest that even the sunglass has expiration dates! well yes, they do. If you are in the habit of buying cheap stud with just tinted glass it might not of any problems but the costly ones with UV ray protections and protective coatings expires after 2 years usage.
5 Toothpaste and toothbrush — 1 year and 3 months

Dentists always tell the patients never to keep their toothbrush for more then 2-3 months and use it before that because they lose their cleaning and anti-bacterial qualities and affect your oral hygiene. As items with expiry date, once the tooth paste tube is opens it should never be kept it stored for more than a year at all.
6 Towels — 3 years

Even if you do wash your towels and dry them out properly it should not be used for more than 3 years at maximum. Wet towels are host to bacterial infestations so we tend to wash them in warm water with detergents which no doubts clean them but it frays them as well so anyways your towel will get rough and wear out, so it’s better to change them regularly as it directly deals with your personal hygiene.
7 Combs — 1 year

As items with expiry date, usually the average shelf life for any comb or hair brush is just one a year but most of us do not chuck away our brushes after a year and keep using it. It does not really matter how much you clean them or keep them dry and hygienic still they should be discarded, in fact it will create more problems such as dandruff.
8 Makeup brushes and sponges — 5 years and 6 months

Usually a professional makeup artist or even a well-informed personal user knows that after every use the makeup brushes and combs need a proper cleaning and washing. But still do get a new one after 5 years for skin protection. Make up sponge needs to be changed after every 6 months.
9 Bra — 2 years

Even bras are among items with expiry date. You bought that fancy bra from the net after searching for it for ages and thought you’ll be wearing it forever. Bad news girl! No matter how nice and pretty or even sexy the bra is, it has an expiry date too that is 2 years. The fabric usually gets stretched and loses colour after too many washes. Bra loses its shape and that’s the most damning part because that’s the whole idea of buying them. So, enjoy your favourite bra for 2 years and then chuck them.
10 Slippers — 6 months

Your home slippers are the one which goes through the maximum wear and tear, literally. You may think that since it’s for house use and you do wash them but eventually they starts hosting fungal and yeast infections due to our dry skins and sweat accumulation.
11 Pillows — 2-3 year

No matter what kind of fillings you put in your pillow it will start losing shape eventually and become home to dust mites. Also, they start causing back and neck pain when they lose their firmness so they need to be changed.
12 Blanket — 7 years

Blankets can pull through 7 years at max, because just like pillows they become hosts to mites etc, since they are not regularly used, they need proper sun drying, dusting and cleaning if you want to use them for few years extra.
13 Mattress — 8-10 years

Since you are going to change the blankets and pillows anyways don’t forget to buy a new mattress as well as they should not be used for more than 8 years. Also keep turning them after every 6 months so that’s they wear out evenly.
14 Wooden cutting boards — 3 years

Among items with expiry date, vegetable cutting boards if wooden should be changed after 3 years no matter even if you wash them daily. The surface gets cuts and bruises due to constant chopping which make them ideal for bacterial infestations. Also due to humidity and contact water contact they swell and lose their shape as well.
